Alright. So you guys have been very patient...thank you. You see, there is a lot that goes into making a company successful. So many fail before they get going and we wanted to make sure to cover our bases to ensure you get the best quality product. Why the long delay? Several prototypes were created, and to be honest...we just were not satisfied with some of the components. There are several people working on this project, and they are all very OCD when it comes to perfection. This may take longer, but you end up with something incredible. I think we finally reached that phase. We are still looking at different options for distribution so that our overseas customers can obtain one of these amazing cases without selling their newborn. Pricing: Due to initial production being kind of low volume, we didn't want to scrap quality for quantity. We spent a lot of time shopping for the best components, and then had our engineer and designers labor for months to make something that is efficient and easy to manufacture. That was the hardest part. But we feel comfortable that this American steel/aircraft-grade aluminum chassis is literally a tank. You are not just getting a couple of cases in one...but you are also getting an extremely nice piece of furniture that will last years. We will be starting pre-orders this month if we can fix a few bugs on our main website, with our Kickstarter campaign starting here in the next few days. Price point we are aiming for: $1984.00 I feel with the support of the community and Kickstarter, we can reach that goal. I also believe if we get a lot of community support...we can drop that price quite a bit. Surprisingly affordable for what you are getting...and our margins are low. We find it more important to get cool concepts on the market more than anything. Spread the word, tell people about our forums and look both ways before crossing the street. I cant wait for this, really suprised on the price aswell i thought it would have been alot more ! , im assuming when the main site is up you will have shipping costs involved somewhere aswell.
im from the philippines, i drooled in this and was thinking i cant be able to afford for this one..but the price got me thinking....
They're are dead serious about the price people =) It's really affordable for what you get that's the awesome part of RH. Creating grand things for a reasonable price. When I first met RH and their desk thought it would cost something like 4 or 5k. They made my dream come true ^^
Yep I also thought that it would cost around 4-5k...but around 2k . What about transportation costs, already in the price?
Nah not included in it. But they told me several times they are working hard to make the shipping price as low as possible. And I know they'll try their best.
so, is that price just the desk or does it factor in any hardware like the cooling, pc components, power supplies...anything other than just the desk?
You'll find the answer you're looking for in here: http://www.forums.redharbinger.com/threads/questions.35/#post-275
Question here guys.. What will be the power plant for the desk? Will it suck up a lot of electric juice or it's considerable?
Power plant? Think you're missing something here =) there is nothing electric in the desk. Only the components you put in there and they will be juiced by your PSU. So depending on your setup it could be a lot or very low.
